Dear Students and Parents,
We would like to welcome all new and returning students and parents as we prepare for the new school year. Our school is divided into three houses, Downs, Collomb and Fusco. House and dean assignments are determined by student last name:
The Deans are here to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students throughout their entire time at Arlington High School. Our Deans work hard to build positive relationships with our students. Deans monitor student attendance, collaborate with students and teachers to solve problems, and uphold policies in our
student handbook to ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for all learners.
ATTENDANCE EXPECTATION FOR REMOTE LEARNING
Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes on time. This year, our school day will begin at 8:30 am and end at 2:56 pm. Please see the AHS Reopening Plan and FAQ for a detailed schedule. Teachers will record daily classroom attendance and tardiness in Powerschool. Deans will follow up with students who struggle to attend class regularly and/or punctually.
ABSENT FROM SCHOOL OR CLASS
So that we can maintain accurate attendance records, please contact the AHS attendance office if your child needs to miss any part of the school day. Please email
[email protected] or call 781-316-3573 to report an absence. Please indicate your child’s name, the date, and the reason for the absence in your email or message.
During remote instruction, students are expected to abide by the Arlington High School Code of Conduct as defined in Section E of the
AHS Student Handbook. Off-campus or online behavior that disrupts the safe and orderly operation of the school or interferes with another student’s learning may be subject to disciplinary action.
POLICY CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19
